squareHello Fam!  I know it’s been a minute, but I hadn’t come across any new technology tools in a minute…until today!

FYI my primary business is empowering women in looking, feeling, and being their best.  I do that as a Life Coach, Beauty & Wellness Consultant, and Dance & Fitness Instructor.  One of the biggest challenges of running a small business is sales.  Not just actually selling, but payment processing.  One of the first major breakthroughs was mobile payment tools like square up and paypal here.

Another hassle can be managing events.  I remember back in 2001 when I started event planning the headache of managing spreadsheets and registrations. OMG SOOOO MUCH PAPERWORK!  Then came EVENTBRITE!!!  This wonderful service made easy work of guest lists, discounts and all things major event related.  While YES there are other ticketing apps and companies with lower fees, I have been #teameventbrite because it integrates with sooo many other services I use like Facebook,  PayPal & MailChimp.  Honestly no one could touch Eventbrite for ease and integration…but IDK if that is still the case.

I have been slowly transitioning my e-commerce off my blog and  using the Square Shop feature. I’ll do an article on why about that later, but as I was building out my store and adding sections I see an option to add EVENTS!!!  HOLD UP, WAIT A MINUTE!!

Yes honey, square has added event functionality.

It is not as robust as Eventbrite by ANY means, but sometimes you don’t need all the bells and whistles.  IJS the ability to send people to one spot to purchase products and register for events is nice. If you’re putting on a major conference I wouldn’t recommend it, but for a simple one time event it may be PERFECT, especially since now Square let’s you capture customer email and contact info!

You can ONLY use this feature if you have a Square online store.  The directions to set it up are in their support section. Give it a try and let me know if you’re feeling it.  I’m going to give a whirl and will be back with updates.

Until then keep Working SMART, not hard.
